easy like (sunday afternoons)

loving this pillow/rug combo I’ve got going on recently.

Good morning! It’s 11:45 as I write this, so I feel that it’s still a valid greeting. I’m currently sitting in pajamas drinking a second cup of coffee and writing out my goals for the week. It’s a new thing I’m trying to do. Very excited about this short, short week – I head to Seattle on Thursday morning (very early, yeesh) to see a dear, dear, wonderful soul friend. I’m packing new hiking boots and some hardcore enthusiasm for the PNW – which I’ve never seen!

Here’s what I’ve been reading this week:

This time of year always makes me nostalgic for back-to-school vibes. I miss buying fresh notebooks and combing through new syllabi (you knew I was a nerd). This print from Vera Bradley captures all of my back to school feels completely.

NYT did a long piece on stress, and how to be better at dealing with it. I found it extremely helpful.

99% of responders have communicated that they support the 27 national monuments up for review by the Trump administration. #ProtectBearsEars and America’s Best Idea.

REALLY tempted by Old Navy’s jean selection. I don’t love the Aerie ones I bought last year. Also Madewell. Hey, I’m a girl with flexible price points.

Alaska’s permafrost is thawing. Here’s what you need to know.

Mmmmm this carbonara is on the list to try.

Man Repeller’s Convo about Taylor Swift is exactly how I reacted to her new single/album news (despite an initial enjoyment of the single that has quickly faded).

Love this post on the importance of saying no. I’m someone who really needs downtime to recharge with herself, so sometimes it means just saying “nope, but maybe sometime soon!”

V interesting from Refinery 29: “Why Our Student Council Presidents are Women, but Our Politicians Are Not.”

I love this: I honestly believe successful relationships, friendships, any kind of ship, involves pure effort. You gotta try to make it work, just like anything else. Chemistry only goes so far.

Hope you have an amazing week! Check back here for more regular posts.

Hope you enjoy Seattle! It’s been several years since I’ve lived there but it still holds a piece of my heart. I always look forward to your posts 🙂

Ah, I’m so glad you like them! And I’m definitely looking for recommendations, so please let me know if you have any favorite places in the city or just outside!
